MVA Student Golf Begins
Through a grant received from the PGA, Marathon Venture Academy students will be receiving gold instruction in their PE block over the next two weeks from golf pro Howard Manske.
MVA Student-led Conferences
Student-led conferences for MVA students will take place on Monday, March 5.  Students will be bringing home registration forms today. Parents are asked to select their top 3 choices for the conference time. Forms are due back to the MAES office by Tuesday, February 21. Click  on Registration forms 6th/7th grade or Registration form 8th grade to download a copy.
State "open enrollment" window opens
The State of Wisconsin's inter-district school "open enrollment" window will run from Feb.6-April 30.   This program allows parents to apply for their children to attend school districts other than the one in which they live.  Applications may be submitted in up to three nonresident school districts.  On-line application is recommended by copying and pasting this link into your browser  http://dpi.wi.gov/sms/psctoc.html
Block 8 Program continues
Marathon Venture Academy’s after school tutoring program will continues for trimester II from 3-4 p.m. I am recommending that your child attend, as all students receiving a D or F grade at this progress report time should be in attendance for tutoring help, until grades become passing. After last week, many students improved their mid-term grades to passing.

Students having D or F grades at this time will have “Raider Card” privileges temporarily revoked until passing grades are attained.  Please help us continue to build positive habits of scholarship into the routines of students.

Thanks for your cooperation!

1.2.12: IPad Use
Recently there has been some concerns in regards appropriate Apps on student IPads.  Students are not to download Apps on their IPads; the Apps that are needed for school are loaded from the master computer at school.
If there are Apps found on IPads that are not loaded from the master computer, the following steps will take place:
  • First offense: one week of check in/out of IPad on a daily basis (IPad will not come home for the week)
  • Second offense: check in/out of IPad on an hourly basis (IPad will no longer come home)
  • Third offense: Parent, staff, principal, and student conference.
Any student with second offense will not be elligible for any "incentive" following the incident.  Students please be sure that you are being responsible when using your IPad; It is a wonderful tool for learning.
